Project Concept
The transformation of existing industrial sites into the 21st century is achieved through the restructuring of existing facilities and the introduction of more green spaces. Redesigning the production areas enables the integration of modern technologies and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. At the same time, the creation of green areas and the incorporation of sustainable practices improve the site’s environmental performance and promote a healthy working environment.
Site
The Rüsselsheim site is being restructured through several coordinated subprojects, including the modernization of existing buildings into office and research spaces, the construction of a large parking facility, and the creation of new communal and outdoor areas. Selected structures are being adapted for new uses such as a canteen and exhibition space, while partial demolitions prepare the site for future development.
Special Considerations
Production operations must continue without interruption throughout the construction process. A portion of the facility will undergo fire protection upgrades, including new escape routes and a redesigned south façade. Parts of the overall site are listed as historic landmarks and will be integrated into the new Green Campus structure.
